World Dancers

The enrichment cluster World Dancers has been working on dances around the world. At the end of the week they want to put together a video that has all of the dancing they've learned included in it. They have learned Ballet, Modern, Hip Hop, and Irish. The cluster looks really fun and I think all of the kids in the cluster enjoyed it.

S.W.A.T. Team

       

         When we went to this cluster we observed that the students are making powerpoints. They are adding transitions between slides. They have been making slides about things they are interested in. By the end of the week they want to have completed slides and a finished powerpoint.

Bernabi Inventors

In the Bernabi Inventors cluster, the students were making parachutes with an egg in a holder, attached to the parachute. Mr.Mantel was dropping the parachutes with the eggs inside.They were seeing whose egg didn't crack. Only one egg made it without cracking.

Bernabi Builders

We observed the Bernabi Builders cluster. The students were working on building buildings to go into a model town. The buildings had a lot of effort put into them. In our opinion, the buildings were absolutely amazing. They were made out of wood blocks, card board, and plasitic blocks.

Bernabi Goes Green

The students in the Bernabi Goes Green Cluster were discussing how to recycle, what to recycle, and what happens to things you recycle. They were fortunate enough to have a representative from The Department of Environmental Services to educate them on recycling. For example, if a number on the bottom of a product in the triangle is 5,6, or 7 it is recycled into fleece.

Orff Ensamble

We visited Orff Ensemble. We saw students playing the xylophone, hand drum, and a few other instruments.They were practicing different songs. Mrs. Swarthout (who was hosting  Orff Ensemble) said that their end product was to learn many new songs. She was teaching notes and other parts of a song. In our opinion, they were doing great especially for the second day of clusters. Reporting by Austin and Olivia.

Crochet

In the cluster crochet we saw a group of people making braid strings with a needle and thread. Their end project is to make a place mat. What we observed before we left is that everybody was smiling and having fun.

Boondogglers Cluster

When visiting the Boondogglers Cluster we observed that the students are hoping to have a finished key chain at the end of the week. The students were also working on the cobra and box stitch. Reported by -Jacob, Katie.

Sing Your Heart Out

 

In the Sing Your Heart Out cluster they were learning and singing songs. They were doing karaoke and had a lead singer with a microphone that was hooked up to the smart board. The students are working on singing and dancing also.

Baseball Blast Cluster

 

                                Students are working on fielding ground balls and how to throw the baseball in Baseball Blast Cluster. They played a game that met the standards of the goals that they needed to work on.The goals they are working trying to achieve  are catching a pop fly and hitting home runs.

Spinning Wool Cluster

     When visiting the Spinning Wool Cluster  we observed that you have to spin your spinner  between their legs to make yarn. The students made their own spinners out of DVD' s. It looks like it takes a lot of hard work. I wonder what they will create? Reported by: Leah and Alex D.

Bloggers Post Family Comments During Learning Night

            

It was wonderful to work with Mrs. Olson and the students in the Bernabi Bloggers. We all learned about blogs together and had fun creating our first blog!

Thanks to the students who helped families add to the blog on Learning Night and thanks to all of you who commented. I'll leave the blog open to comments for another week or so.

Update from the Helping Heroes

                                                                             
Mrs. Wilson reports that the Helping Heroes have raised $200 so far through the sales of friendship bracelets and cocoa. They are deciding on which charities will receive the money they've raised. Great work Heroes!

Glogster

The Glogster cluster enjoyed creating Glogs of their favorite books. They chose a background and then decorated their posters and wrote advertisements for their books.

Cheer Challenge

Two, four, six, eight- Here's a cluster that is great! The students in Cheer Challenge learned basic stretches, jumps, cheers and stunts.

Helping Heroes K-2

Students in the K-2 Helping Heroes Cluster made posters and did jobs to help out our school.

Puppet Cluster

In the Puppet Cluster students are making puppets.They are making hand, finger, and stick puppets. -Trevor

Clay Creations

In Clay Creation students are busy!  They’re molding clay into pots and bowls using special potter's tools. Come to Learning Night and see their amazing creations.      By Brandon

Balobby Architects

Do you like math, or creating things? If you do, this cluster is for you. Balobby are imaginary people. The Balobby Architects design houses for them. They design tree houses, schools, and kennels for their teddy bear pets.
